I gotta admit...I was underwhelmed and bored during his return. *yawn*

I'm posting this here so you all can get a chance to get some education. Triple H and Steph are in charge now and they are both fans of SLOW BUILDS. Hence the yearlong Rock/Cena build, the slow "turning" of John Cena and now this. Did you REALLY expect CHRIS JERICHO to walk out and just spill his next move?
Posted By: CottonMouthWolf (Guest) on January 03, 2012 at 09:03 AM
What's the fucking logic of letting only US Americans be able to see this video???
Posted By: Guest#9067 (Guest) on January 03, 2012 at 09:08 AM
that was hilarious

Hated Jericho pulling off an Andy Kaufman... he trolled himself big time... can't wait for the audience ti rip him apart, again.
Posted By: Andrew Barbarash (Guest) on January 03, 2012 at 09:19 AM
For anyone still wondering whether Jericho is heel or face compare his smile at the end of this segment with that of R-Truth whenever he smiled last night. Truth is clearly a face, Jericho is clearly a heel.

It is obvious that someone else will come out. Who sent him to come back will be the question? We still don't know what he is trying to recapture. Is he trying to recapture the saying that CM Punk is using? Is he trying to recapture the title? Is he trying to recapture the WWE (control?)

Piped in boos, which the sheeple will gladly follow from here on out.

Greatest troll ever!

So we get a shit finish to the advertised title match, and one of the lamest returns in pro wrestling history. No wonder ratings are falling, WWE isn't even trying anymore.
Posted By: Erik... (Guest) on January 03, 2012 at 09:44 AM
@CottonMouthWolf, it's not the slow build that made it underwhelming and boring, it was the way they presented it. Seriously, the segment was boooooring. You can have a slow build and at least keep it interesting but this wasn't even close to that.
Posted By: Jason (Guest) on January 03, 2012 at 09:45 AM
This was a great segment--not quite on the level of his first WWE appearance, but a better return than the last one. His over-the-top celebration with the fans was hilarious, and the fact that he kept going to the point of making people uncomfortable was genius. It would have been easy for him to then cut a promo on the fickleness of the fans, but I liked how it ended with the WTF feeling.

and do you really think they are goin to turn cena heel?? outta smart boy!!
Posted By: DUH (Guest) on January 03, 2012 at 09:49 AM
Actually, I think it's beautiful. He's stated before that he prefers being a heel. He came out with the old 80's hand slapping, baby kissing attitude... doing it over the top. Not saying a word and trying to soak the crowd in his cheesiness. At the end, the boos came and that's what he wanted. Personally, I think it was done perfectly. The look on his face like "why are you booing me?" The perfect reason for him to turn right away.
Posted By: chassy (Guest) on January 03, 2012 at 09:53 AM
To everyone criticizing this: on the contrary, it was brilliant. Jericho came out and trolled an entire audience, his over-the-top audience pandering and not saying a word were all part of his heel persona. Be patient and see where this goes.

It was very difficult to watch as it got awkward. I don't see the point of the over-the-top celebration and if you think there is some underlying rational to this, you're giving WWE too much credit.
Triple H and Stephanie are destroying the WWE product.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the idiots who don't understand the purpose of this return.
It was supposed to be 'stupid', 'boring', 'drawn out', 'lame', 'letdown', 'waste of time' etc.
Some people just don't get it.

Man, that was the worst redebut of 2012!

This went over my head.
Posted By: Rahim Wright (Guest) on January 03, 2012 at 10:59 AM
That was a waste of 6 minutes.
Posted By: flair4dagold (Guest) on January 03, 2012 at 11:00 AM
McMahon should have written a blank check and flown Brock Lesnar in this spot.
Would've been cooler.
Posted By: phredric (Guest) on January 03, 2012 at 11:01 AM
Chris Jericho channelling his Andy Kaufman was silly, the idea was that the common fan was SUPPOSED to hate it. He failed to work the audience. Giving his heel persona a poor dynamic that will develop over the coming weeks.
Posted By: Andrew Barbarash (Guest) on January 03, 2012 at 11:05 AM
And I'd say get used to it for a few weeks at least.... He'll only be showing his true colours at the Rumble at the earliest...

Funny, I thought that on his original debut. That was boring as hell. Fact, not opinion

People like you are mentally retarded. Rather than give WWE credit where it's due, you think the IWC are making this "troll heel" gimmick up. Fuck you, grow up and ACCEPT WWE got you good. If you don't get it, figure it out.
The joke that is the IWC will never succeed in being a credible voice of criticism.

greatest heel turn ever. without saying a word.
Posted By: Guest#8565 (Guest) on January 03, 2012 at 11:49 AM
I marked for a couple of minutes then was thinking what the he'll is he doing? This is pretty lame, this is what they wanted and I can't wait for the follow up.

"Former-wrestler, turned ballroom dancer, turned wrestler again, Chris Jericho returned to WWE Raw this past Monday and he brought something special for his fans... flash induced seizures."
"When asked about his ensemble Chris said - I was tired of all of those drab outfits from Dancing With The Stars."

People were gonna bitch & moan no matter HOW Jericho came back. Coming back to major cheers, and them getting booed by not saying a single word was an original move and it worked well and will hopefully stay interesting over the coming weeks.
As for the person who said "if TNA did this you guys would piss all over it", TNA would never give such a reaction because there's only a couple hundred people at the tapings.

Hey jerkoff - Whatever it was, it sucked. The whole WWE product sucks.
Posted By: Rafe (Guest) on January 03, 2012 at 12:58 PM
When he returned, I was fairly excited for a couple minutes, then confused, then laughing at how he was putting one over on the fans. If you can't tell that his behavior was that of a caricature, your radar for bullshit must be broken.
Big, goofy smile to start, high-fiving everyone and letting it go way too long, constantly pumping his arm and shouting, "Come on!" to pander for minutes on end - THIS IS WHAT CRAP FACES DO. This is what Jericho's clearly mocking (whether in-character or simply as a performer, although it's likely to be in-character regardless). So if you thought it was lame or boring or whatever OVERALL due to these things, it seems that your mind wasn't able to get over the "critical thinking" hump which would allow you to recognize or enjoy satire when you see it.
But excitement, confusion, laughter was, for "The IWC," what I think was likely the appropriate response.
